WebAug 20, 2009 · The EHX 12AY7 doesn't look like it would be much good, but looks can be deceiving. It's definitely a better product than any tube preamp ART have ever made. It's apparently touchy about what it drives though, you really have to be going into a properly implemented balanced input, some "balanced" inputs aren't.
